For the past 12 years, I’ve been traveling the far-off reaches of the globe contacting remote tribal groups—and contracting various illnesses. Journeys on back roads with local people have created a common theme in my work. Radiant colors, vivid landscapes, and enticing faces are the cornerstone of my photography.
When not purchasing plane tickets or wandering aimlessly, I spend my quieter days living in Lake Tahoe, California, soaking up the sunshine and living the life of a mountain man. My photographic work ranges from fine art to commercial to editorial and can be seen anywhere beautiful imagery exists.
The Ryan Salm Photography journal will be updated regularly with posts from any shows and festivals that I attend as well as any wild adventures that I may embark upon.
